the only thing that are always ruling, not the driver always.
Still driving fast is fun and luckily here in Germany it is "kind of legal" ( if there is no speed limit officially on the section of the motorway there is still a judicial speed limit of 130 k/h, 70mph, and if it comes to an accident you are always 50% guilty as you were driving more than 130 km/h).

to me, if there's a selling point on these, it has to be the interior. beyond that, they just fall flat. at least land rover is distinct and true to its roots. i'm starting to come round to the idea that the old station wagon might be the more interesting look: the mercedes e500 wagon is very classy....

That's what I have
But it's a wonderful car if I decide to drive to our house in Lapland using the main roads. The long voyage, 1,175 km, is not a problem and I'm not too tired arriving to the destination. The seats are good and sitting a bit higher than in norman family cars give a little bit better view to the road. Plus there's a feeling of safety if hitting a moose or reindeer.
My logic when ordering Bentayga was to have the same plus a bit more luxury, space and output. Like I said earlier, these cars are not, and probably not supposed to be, Beauty Queens. That role I leave to the faster GT and sports cars.

I've driven Cayenne S's for the last 10+ years and it's the perfect all-around vehicle for the North East United States.
It was the brand's first foray into a new field
And given the size, making it look like a giant station wagon was probably seen as the least risky choice.
I cannot say the design makes me swoon but then no SUV does. Judging by my father, maybe in a decade or two

In some weird way it reminds me of the Saab SUV
destined to fail. But than again; the Cayenne is (one off) Porsche best selling car....and remember what people said about that model before launch....
All I can say is; I just drove 2.000 miles in my wife's car (VW Touareg Hybrid) and I have to admit that I really like this car. Great travel car! Looks very good as well. Better than a Cayenne if you'd ask me. So as long as the clientele is happy with it: why not travel in a Bentley SUV?

I've seen the Bentayga on the Brussels car show
and wasn't impressed by the looks of it, to be honnest I found it rather dull, knowing what this beast costs I'd rather spend it on a full loaded Range Rover (you buy even 2 of them for that amount ) 
no, seriously I know this SUV is a bit of an expensive-see-how-rich-I-am vehicle, but let's face it with that weight you can't even go off-road without risking getting stucked (certainly with road tires)
in fact a normal Continental has 4-wheel drive also, I'm sure it'll bring you as safely on the Alpine sloaps as the Bentayga .... My last 5 cars were all SUV's and I'm pretty happy in terms of comfort and handling
with the Mercedes ML 350CDI that I have now, only a Range Rover or a Cayenne could maybe convince me to change from it.
But hey taste and colours are allways difficult to judge
