The official statement from Bulgari regarding the Gerald Genta Fantasy "Mickey Mouse" Watches is:

At this stage of the process, they chose to "highlight the core products introduced at Basel 2010. Regarding more precisely the Gérald Genta Fantasy/Mickey Mouse watches, this topic is under discussion."

So there you have it.  I guess we will have to wait and see.

I was actually wondering the other day what would be the fate of this collection. Perhap's we could see the original 1920's-1930's Mickey Mouse come back? I mention this because I percieve them to be more in line with the Bvlgari image, rather than the modern representations. Oh, well, that is a whole other ball game, mixing and matching images and emotions.

If Bulgari doesn't see the Fantasy watches are part of its "core products", I would pass on this line because it means they probably didn't sell that well IMO.  If the Mickey Mouse watches sold very well, it would have been considered a core product for the Gerald Genta line.

Plus, I don't see Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck watches fitting in with the Bulgari branding.

I don't think Bulgari should expend capital in any of the Daniel Roth & Gerald Genta's non-performing lines.  Why expose yourself to similar fates of these 2 small brands?

Maybe they're having some problems with the partnership with Disney. It's like branding mickey mouse with the bulgari brand and it isn't too fitting an image.

I think that it's a good decision for Bulgari to concentrate on their core products for now until everything settles down.  Then maybe a few years from now release some limited edition Mickey watches.  They probably didn't sell all that well under the lone GG brand, but I think with the stronger Bulgari name and distribution there's got to be a huge hardcore fan base for Disney.  I've always like the Mickey watches with the 'Aviator' Mickey being my favorite.

One step at a time, for now I just want to handle the GG Octo Bi-Retro Ceramic with that cool strap

...last weekend, along with my Lange 1815!

I just did not feel right to post photos of two watches on the same day.

The Mickey one (not the Lange) was a present from my wife: I had always longed for one!

And now, knowing the collection might be terminated I am even happier.

Regarding the commercial issues you guys mention, I am surprised when you say "GG Fantasy did not sell well". The truth is they are difficult to find in the second hand market and their "used-price" is actually pretty solid... That does not seem to match with the supposedly bad selling, IMHO.

Anyways, I will try to post pictures of my new baby during the weekend. This very much completes my Genta collection (Arena Birretro blue-dial; Arena Chrono Quattro Retro in white gold & tantalum and now this Fantasy Navigator).

Congrats sanro on both watches!  You're very lucky to have an understanding wife and it's so cool that she got the Mickey for you as a present.  Looking forward to seeing pics of the GG mickey soon.
