Bulgari

I am not sure if this is the place to post about Genta...now that it has been swallowed by Bulgari. When I first heard the news I ran to get my hands on some of the models that I had been procrastinating about for all these years.

One is this Arena Birretro that I finally got this week...

 

The other one, which I hope I will get my hands on to soon is, of course, a Fantasy.

I am sooooooooo sad about the Genta news ( I know hate is a strong word, but I really-really don't like Bulgari (can I say this in this forum?).

I know: I should have bought them earlier and thus help GG stay afloat. Well... All I can say is I am enjoying this beauty as much as I ever imagined. Even if it might look kind of a betrayal to the design by GG I also have ordered from my friend Romain a navy-blue coco strap which I think will look wonderful on this watch.

A great choice, and especially nice on the white rubber strap.  Thank you for sharing and look forward to seeing pictures of your Fantasy when you get it.

 

Great color combination and the satin finish of the case matches perfectly. 

We're all waiting to see what Bulgari will do with the GG and DR brands, so hopefully what they do in the future will please GG/DR's customers of the past and keep them customers in the future.

And yes this is the place to discuss anything Daniel Roth & Gerald Genta related now, so your posts are always appreciated here!

Welcome to the Bulgari forum!  Yes, this is the appropriate forum to discuss Gerald Genta and Daniel Roth along with Bulgari.

Congrats on your new Arena Biretro!  I love this color combination with the two shades of blue on the dial, brushed case finish, and the white strap really adds a nice touch to the overall look on your wrist.  Very nice!

In regards to your thoughts on Bulgari, we welcome all points of view (good or bad) as long as it's done in a respectful way.  IMO, we'll have to wait and see what Bulgari has under developments for the DR/GG brand and how it will fit in with the current Bulgari line.  I feel that DR/GG can benefit from the distribution channels and exposure with existing Bulgari products.

I had the same thoughts as you about the Gerald Genta Fantasy line and posted some questions about it.  Would appreciate your comments there and how you would envision the Fantasy line in the future.

...my sadness about the dissapearance of GG possibly made me cross the line... My apologies for that. I just hope Bulgari takes this opportunity to take a step forward and make the best of all the know-how it has now inherited.

Hello sanro!

Cool pics of your GG Biretro!  The dark and light blue colors are the perfect contast and really makes the dial great to look at.  I have a Arena Sport and the rubber strap and deployant is so comfortable!  Isn't it interesting to watch the hour and hands jump?

That is indeed a wonderfull watch. I wish it was me Im shure that you can play with a lot of strap combinations. in deed a watch to have a lot of fun with. I also understand your motivations and views, cudos to you for bying this piece.

Nice watch i have the one with the black dial and titanium bracelet and i'm very happy with .

Dont worry the brand DR & GG will not desapear the only thing it's, that you will see the name BVLGARI / Gerald Genta and BVLGARI / Daniel Roth on the dial .

the factory in Switzerland will stay DR & GG ,the after sales service will stay in Geneva for DR & GG when the one for Bulgari it's in Neuchatel

they can't mix everything

but enjoy you watch
