Can people help me out here?
Should a watch design be carrying culture? Culture that, such as Bulgari, can be so deeply Roman or Italian, so much architecture, even food...
Look at the markets...

Then the buildings, the atmosphere...

The service at some of the most elite and yet personal stores..Bulgari could have stated here, like this...
Bill Clinton gets his eyeglasses here..seriously!

Then very important..the food....it reflects the life and possibly influences the designs..yes...
Pipernos...

This one fine dining place is a collection of sculptures!

And then...the main Bulgari store, the original, the first..
at the Spanish Steps itself,

that. IWC has an American/Swiss/German gestalt for me. Patek, in my eyes, is French/Swiss...VC, in my eyes, is big SWISS + little german + very small french, Rolex is English/Swiss/german...Cartier is big FRENCH/little swiss, etc. etc.
At the same time, in my eyes, the new design houses are about the personalities of the designers and not the cultural heritage of the company. They make them is Switzerland because it has cache...but they'll make them in China when that becomes acceptable new wave. The new makes are like modern artists...more about "look at me" than "look at this." In my opinion.
