Montblanc

Very nice, but... JLC Rendez-Vous?

+1...my first thought too

Some of these look like JLC Rendez-Vous copies, or at least too heavily inspired by JLC's pieces.

This is not the first time Monblanc has borrowed heavily from JLC's designs--or at least that's my impression.

Disappointing that Montblanc isn't blazing its own trail on some of these pieces.

John

Thanks for your candid thoughts John

In my review of the Heritage Chronometrie Dual Time, I mentioned the same feedback - that Montblanc needs more of their own design DNA, which some models have and I hope to see more from them.

I have high hopes on Montblanc and I look forward to their offerings in watches and wonders 2015. smile

Cheers

Lol I knew someone will say that! :p

Yes some resemblance especially the models launched in 2014 although Montblanc did differentiate on some aspects such as the font, guilloche pattern and case design.

I am glad in 2015, Montblanc further differentiated the Boheme line with this new Moongarden collection with their new in-house complication. The name of each month's full moon name is something quite interesting to me (and the design of how they are displayed)

Thanks for your candid feedback my friend smile
Like you, I do hope Montblanc will further differentiate this line with new innovations and designs.

Cheers

Robin, I assume the moon names are...

...those related to the Northern Hemisphere. Right?

I am not familiar with the moon names to be honest

didnt even realize the full moon names differ between northern and Southern Hemispheres :p

Will check and revert

Sorry been very busy with work this week - I will confirm if the new Boheme Moongarden follows the Northern Hemisphere's full moon name or not.

I guess we all, open minded, do. :-)

You said it!

Looks like Jerome is bringing over more JLC DNA.

Will the Montblanc brand DNA become eroded or cross pollinated with JLC?  I think it's starting now.

Maybe JLCing Montblanc?

I believe Montblanc can draw lots of inspiration from Minerva too

Instead of only from sister RIchemont companies.
I believe some new models coming up soon will have more inspirations from Minerva, just like the newly launched Heritage Chronometrie series smile

I saw it some time ago but wasn't allowed to take photos then as it was under embargo.

Will try to visit them soon for some live shots! smile

Have a good weekend Thomas
