I posted some initial pics with my phone cam of the recent Lange Akademie. Here are the official and much better pics
of this fantastic event. Once again, congrats to the Lange Team for conceiving this and executing this to near perfection. I have no commercial ties or vested interest with Lange. I am just a humble owner and fan who was fortunate enough to be invited to be part of the Akademie.
The event took place at the Novus Restaurant located within the historic confies of the Singapore National Museum.
This was the main presentation area at the Novus Restaurant where Joanna Lange and Manfred Webber would give us insights into the refined world of Lange

The lovely Joanna Lange sharing her passion of Lange while demonstrating how the Lange patented "stop" mechanism works on the tourbillon..

Just kidding

And finally.. the class for the night...
Second from left and seated is Frank Giacobini followed by Michelle Chen. And completing the Lange team that lovely evening are of course Manfred Webber and Joanna Lange seated and second and third form the right respectively.

“Time Is In Our Hands”
The Connoisseur’s Akademie by A. Lange & Söhne
Singapore – Following the success of the Connoisseurs’ Akadamie events last year, German
watch making powerhouse A. Lange & Söhne, recently kick started the 2012 series of events
at Novus, Singapore National Museum. Themed “Time is in our hands”; this was the first of
three sessions, consisting of a combination of lectures and workshops. The Connoisseurs’
Akadamie is inspired by the famed Lange Akademie, which was started in Glashütte,
Dresden as a training school for their global stakeholders.
Upon arrival, a small exclusive group of guests were presented specially prepared and
personalised watchmaker coats as they prepared for an evening of horological
appreciation. The session was kick started by Franck Giacobini, Managing Director of A.
Lange & Söhne, Asia Pacific who thanked the guests for their respect and passion for the
brand. Joanna Lange, Head of the Lange Akademie took centerstage next as she shared
with the guests the rich history and legacy of this iconic German watchmaker.
After the theoretical portion of the workshop, the guests were eager to get hands on with
the practical part of watch making. Manfred Weber, master watch maker demonstrated
several tasks such as polishing of minute components on diamond paper, which is one of
the finishing techniques used at Lange, the manual bending of the stop lever, employed in
the patented stop seconds Tourbillon mechanism, found in most of Lange’s Tourbillon
timepieces, as well as removing and re-inserting micro regulator screws on the balance
wheel.
The highlight of the evening, however, was without a doubt the presentation of A. Lange &
Söhne’s exquisite watches. Guests enjoyed an up close look at the timepieces during dinner,
fully appreciating the beauty of each watch, outside and within.
