To incorporate fusee and chain with tourbillon. My first impression is awe at its minuscule size (38.5mm). So much complication packed into such a small package.

It’s always harder to pack complications into smaller wristwatches rather than larger ones. Probably why they don’t make them like this anymore.

Gosh, the word is over-used - but this truly is a legend.
An utterly magnificent piece - congratulations on owning it.
As to the technical complexity, yeah: no doubt a challenge to fit a fusée and chain mechanism into a 30.6mm calibre. Barrel size and thus power reserve are the principal impacts. AR&P and Lange did an amazing job on it back in the day.

Does the crystal have AR coating?
It looks like it might not. The original crystals were not AR-coated.
If the crystal is not AR-coated, and if you haven't already considered this, then you might consider having Lange replace it with an AR-coated crystal. It makes a big difference, though I know some prefer non-AR crystals.
