It won't beat the Dato first generation for me, but it is cool looking, like this.

I must confess I am not a huge fan of all the A. Lange & Sohne watches but I do like this one a lot.
It may be in part due to the lovely blue/grey dial colour which is one of my favourite colours for a dial as well as the way everything is so clean and legible and I really like the big date. I know what i have said may be considered blasphemy by some but I just like what I like. Whilst I'm being honest I feel the same way about Patek Philippe I love some models but not all but having said that I can still appreciate what both brands deliver in regards to high quality movements, spectacular dials and great cases as well as of course their history.

I was really excited about the first Lumen (the Zeitwerk) but the novelty worn off after the second release for me. This Dato Lumen is the forth Lumen I believe.
The Zeitwerk came first I believe... and the concept was developed so that time telling isn't compromised in the dark.
I like the Grande Lange 1 Lumen too (without the moonphase).
Well, for me, the Lumen has more sense in the Lange 1 Moon Phase. It adds some magic to Poetry.

The glowing moon seems to be the perfect pairing for the Lumen series.
I applied for this one with a Double split and a L1 Timezone, but wasnt lucky. Even i appealed with the L31…

I like the Lumen series - but I think the Zeitwerk was the peak of the species and that Lange perhaps ought to have stuck with that.
I much prefer the argenté dials - and, by tradition, black dials on their chronographs.
