I'm really hoping they refresh the Dato in this style. I've always wanted a 39mm dato but have been put off because of the comments on this site regarding wearability. Not a fan of the current up/down...
Yeah! As long as they have the Roman numerals and no PR I would be ok. I think giving it more space on the 41 dial may actually be good for the design. I still like a chunky bezel like on the 39, though...
A really well-done amalgam of old and new, with the larger size sans the PR, for those who like the bigger case.
Great choice: the gen. 1 data dial is my favourite. It has quirky, unique character and is the classic of the two.

The dial reminds me of the Platinum dials of recent Vacheron Constantin's production. Really lovelly !
Looks terrific, and I love the throwback look to the original Dato -- such a strong, timeless design.
I thought at first it would have been offered in Honey Gold, which would be even better IMO.

... there is the unique Datograph Up/Down "Hampton Court" piece that'll be auctioned on November 9. WG case and bracelet, grey dial with black subdials, red chrono second hand, and half-hunter caseback.
Check it out here. The red chrono hand is (to me) the distinguishing feature.
ALS, hits I out of the park with the HWK models! They’ve done it again! Although my favorite is the 1815. The challenge is the price. Not sure of the price, but I am confident is way more than I am willing to pay now.
