Many thanks to Ari for making the trip from LA to share his Sidestep for my viewing pleasure. If it's still in his possession a year from now, chances are good it will wind up as the pinnacle of my collection.

I love it. The engraving on the 3/4 plates is icing on the cake. Wish they did it more.
Frankly, the only problematic aspect of the Sidestep . . .
. . . before seeing it in the metal yesterday was the floral movement engraving. After one glance all doubt was dispelled.

Before seeing the Sidestep in person my take was the engraving might be . . .
. . . a tad rich, but that bias dissipated at first glance. Whoever designed the Sidestep had a refined sense of aesthetics.

I've been familiar with the blue 1815 up-and-down for decades and might have seen one many years ago. You could've knocked me down with a feather when I realized Ari had both of my dream Langes.
