I used several homemade, desk lamps, along with strong bulbs and transparent paper to diffuse the light. You have to be careful with the maximum wattage of the set, because one Ikea lamp melted 😂
Then I made many attempts to set it up and came out with what you see. It's a pure amateur makeshift, but the effect is not bad 😉
The effect was the most important to me
...but I am sure with the lights designed for photography it would be definitely easier, then maybe it would be more boring too 😅

These are maybe the best Macro shots of a watch that I've seen in a while. Stunning, and the fact that you did that with 5D and 100mm macro is fantastic. Also, good props on the light, its very soft but highlights all the key aspects of the shot. Bravo, truly impressive!
Nice pictures can be taken with anything, even old cameras or phones if you have the imagination to use them.
The camera is just a tool to achieve the goal. Of course, the better the camera, lens and equipment is, the easier it is to achieve the desired effect, but it is not necessary 😊
