almost all manufacturers have the watches set to about ten past ten. Since it is visually balanced I see the point.
But Lange have theirs set to about ten to two. Equally visually balanced - but indeed different.
Is there someone in this fantastic forum that know why? One point I see is that when someone compares them on picture it makes the Lange be seen as different - the one that sticks out.

I don't know for sure, but maybe since 1:51 ("ten to two") looks more balanced on the Lange 1?

The answer is simple. Lange’s photographer isn’t a morning person...
he only starts shooting after he’s had his lunch!

In fact I often arbitrarily choose 1:50 over 10:10... as it seems the hands “ moves less” when some time has passed...like 1:52 looks better than 10:12.... but not sure if that is even true 😂 .
It always takes me a couple of photos and time to get the shot I like...
But if you are taking a marketing shot, you would spend the time to set the hands to exactly what you want... for Lange I am guessing the offset dial put the visual weighting to heaving hour hand to the right (just guessing).
