Lange 1 Daymatic epic movement
It is unbelievable the level of decoration of this movement, it is epic !

First off, fantastic photo! Love the clarity and warmth you captured.
I was initially a bit uncertain when the daymatic was introduced with an automatic movement. To me, the Lange 1 would always be a handwound piece.. or at least I had hoped it would be with a 3/4 rotor a la Langematik. After being able to view the movement in person though.. I am totally on your side, the details in the rotor and the overall feel are superb.

Sadly it was not possible to use the Sax-o-Mat
The Lange One requires a power reserve of 3 days and so the Sax-O-Mat couldn't meet this feature. But the movement with central rotor offers a nice show. I fully agree about the fact that the Lange One remains after all a handwind watch but the good point about the Daymatic is the opposite dial lay-out which is at the end, more logic if you wear the watch on the left wrist.

Nice decoration.. but I have never liked blued screws for some reason holding down the
gold chatons...two sometimes 3 per sink. They butcher the plate IMO like a bulletholes :|

Best-decorated automatic Lange movement yet?
Lange 1 purists probably don't care for the Daymatic, but it's growing on me. A day-of-week indicator is much more useful than a huge power-reserve dial on an automatic, and you get nearly all of the utility of an annual calendar (unless you frequently lose track of what month it is) without looking as busy.
I would wear this watch upside down.. Breathtaking..
So sad the dial simply cannot match the movement.
Can you say more about what elements of the dial you dislike? I'm curious! [nt]

ALS is king in this regard. In my opinion, ALS is the best brand...period.
