Classic 5157
I am ready to make my first purchase from Breguet, I am getting the Classic 5157. Any owners of this model, I would apprecite any feedback.

I can’t answer your question from ownership experience, but I can certainly tell you what I think of the Classique Ref. 5157 and I love it! It has all the classic Breguet characteristics – guilloche dial, secret signatures, blued Breguet hands, straight lugs and the cold-rolled coin-edge case. Most importantly, though, in this type of elegant time-only dress watch, it is wonderfully proportioned at 38 x 5.4mm. It has the automatic ultrathin Frederic Piguet Cal 502.3 movement and a display back.
The obvious alternative is the more recent Ref. 5967 Classique and while I love the hand-wound Cal. 151 and the interesting 3D guilloche, the 41 mm size puts me off. But it’s worth considering if you have a larger wrist.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. I appreciate you opinion. I looked at other Breguets (classic) over the past year. And decided on the 5157. The problem with a larger watch is I have a small wrist. I do not know much about the mechinics of a watch, but if you could explain the engine on the 5157, the information would be helpful for me. I am expecting to receive the watch in two weeks. I will let you know when I pick it up. In the mean time I would again appreciate your knowledge on the caliber. Gorgeous watch
Beautiful watch especially considering its larger case. Though it is somewhat untraditional for Breguet to have their classic models in this size, it certainly meets todays "fashion" standards.
