📖 About This Reference

The Tudor Montecarlo reference 7159/0 represents the brand's chronograph offering from the mid-1970s, featuring a black dial configuration within the Montecarlo series. This reference was produced between 1973 and 1976, positioning it as a period-specific chronograph during Tudor's expansion of their sports watch catalog. The watch houses a manual-winding Valjoux 7734 caliber with 42 hours of power reserve within a 40mm steel case. The black dial is paired with a fixed tachymeter bezel and protected by an acrylic crystal. Water resistance extends to 30 meters, and the watch is completed with a steel bracelet. The manual movement requires regular winding to maintain operation. This reference appeals to collectors focused on Tudor's chronograph production from the 1970s, particularly those seeking examples with the Valjoux 7734 movement. The three-year production window and black dial variant make it relevant for collectors building comprehensive Tudor chronograph collections or those interested in mid-1970s sports watch offerings from the brand.

Tudor 7032 Black " Porsche " or 7159 Grey " Monte Carlo "?
I saw both of them recently auctioned. The Black 7032: The 7159 Grey: Ok, it would have been more relevant to compare the same reference with its 2 different dials, but that raises 2 questions. Which reference do you prefer, the 7032 or the 7159, and in which color, grey or black? Forget the rarity

One of the cleanest Tudor Chronograph Ref 7159 aka " Monte Carlo " I have seen.
Which I had the pleasure to take in picture, several years ago, and which belongs to one of us... Spectacular on its bracelet, great looking on a Nato, as well... One of these very good vintage Tudor, for sure. And this one is in superb condition, which is not the case for a lot of them. Best, Nicol

The condition of the case and dial is awesome. A lovely vintage Tudor which should deserve more consideration. Best, Nicolas

Tudor 7159 Monte Carlo Chronograph: A cool combination I had to take in picture.
The Tudor 7159 is certainly a very cool and fresh watch. But when it comes on such a Nato, it is irresistible. Ok, I prefer it with the bracelet, but from time to time, it is great to have fun. This Chronograph calls for Fun! Best, Nicolas

A question for Tudor Montecarlo experts...
... Hello friends! I need some help... is it correct to find a reference 7149/0 Chrono with a steel bezel? Or it only came with the black bakelite insert type? Thank you in advance for your advice! Very cordially Abel.
