Description
Part of the ongoing catch and release program...
Up for grabs is this increasingly rare and always desireable "Big Block" Tudor Chronograph, ref. 94200. If you know your vintage Tudor chronos, you know this watch.
The watch appears to be a safe puppy. I'm conservatively rating it at 80%. I give it that rating as compared to unworn NOS, but in reality, for a watch this age, I truly think 90% would be more accurate. You will be hard pressed to find a cleaner example shy of NOS.
Little if any polishing seems to have been done. Lug edges are super crisp. Case edges too. Minor nicks and scuffs appear throughout the case...but we're talking pinprick sized. Bezel insert is clean. Back is super clean. Between the lugs are near immaculate. Pushers screw down perfectly. The Rolex crown does too.
The original and correct 78360 Rolex Oyster bracelet has the correct 589 end pieces and is also in fantastic condition. Zero stretch. All links. May have been gently buffed at some point to my eye, but perhaps not. Edges along the links are crisp and clean.
The original crystal shows minimal wear. No major scratches or dings. One edge does appear to have been buffed slightly at some point.
The 100% original matte dial and hands are breathtakingly clean. Not even so much as a patina on the luminous markers or hands. Just awesome. No discoloration on the sub dials or hands at all.
The watch has not been in my hands long, but it is keeping excellent time, and all chrono functions work perfectly. Sweep resets dead to zero.
All in all, a fantastic example of a rare bird who's only getting rarer.
Sorry to say, no box or papers. Just a terrific watch in terrific shape.
