Description

For sale is an extremely rare(1 of 2 made)Piaget Mens watch. There is no model name as this was a special creation commissioned by Yves Piaget in 2002. There were only 2 pieces made by Piaget as part of a special offering for Piaget clients. One was sold in Europe and this one was sold in the US. This one was presented and bought at a special event in LA in 2004. On the box of the watch is a personal handwritten note by Yves Piaget stating that this piece was the only one sold in the US(included in the pictures). The original papers were not included when I took possession of the watch. I went to the Piaget Boutique at the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA and brought in the watch for complete servicing and documentation. Mark Gavranovic, the manager of the Piaget Boutique, received the watch and had it sent to the service HQ of Piaget USA in Texas. While preparing the documentation, he tried to find the name of the model and a picture of the watch in the company archives. He was not able to find any. This was a testament to the uniqueness and the individuality of the piece. Even after the watch was sent to Texas, he spent a few days trying to find information and a picture of the watch in the company archives and the all over the internet. He was still not able to find any. The only information he found was the year of manufacture, the serial number and that the case that was used for the special build was the Sheika case. The Sheika line is the extremely high end line of jewelry watches by Piaget. Mr. Garanovic had also pointed out that aside from the beauty of the watch, one thing that also added to the uniqueness of this particular piece was the fact that yellow stones were used. He stated that Piaget had not really made any significant pieces with colored stones since the 1960's. Here are the specs as provided by the Piaget HQ... Piaget Limelight jewelry watch, 18k yellow gold Leather strap with set gold folding clasp Bezel, case, and dial set with: 181 brilliant-cut diamonds (total weight: approx. l.7cts) 48 trapeze-cut yellow sapphires (total weight: approx. I 1.38cts) 9 baguette-cut diamonds (total weight: approx.0.l5cts) 2 counters on the dial: Seconds at 10 o'clock Power reserve at 6 o'clock Piaget self-winding movement 55lP Case back Number: 03625 Individual number: 873629 Year of production: 2002 The complete service was performed over a period of four months and came with a year of warranty from Piaget. I have the complete service documentation and insurance documentation that came from Piaget. If you are interested in this watch, please pm me and I can send you the documents. I can also send more pictures. I have it listed in mint condition. Everything is mint because of the complete servicing at Piaget....except for the strap. The papers are the papers from the servicing at Piaget. I am not a professional photographer...as my pictures will show! I have to say that the watch looks MUCH, MUCH more luxurious in person. In order that the buyer is totally protected, I would recommend a face to face transaction at a Piaget boutique. I would prefer the Piaget boutique at the South Coast Plaza as Mr. Garanovic is completely familiar with the watch and it's history. This way, the authenticity of the watch is established. Any other procedures can be discussed in order that both the buyer and I will be 100% protected. If there is a need to discuss things, please send me a PM and we can exchange contact information. I am located in the US and would prefer a US buyer. However, I will also entertain international buyers. The procedures will have to be discussed. This is a significant and absolutely beautiful piece. Thank you.
