Description

For Sale: The Panerai 5218-301/A Mare Nostrum.

In 1993, Officine Panerai Firenze launched two incredible modern timepieces filled with Panerai history, the 201/A Logo and the 301/A Mare Nostrum.

The dial of this Mare is a beautiful slate blue and is in excellent condition. The case in in very good condition also. The Mare comes with the very early green box, the original blue crocodile strap, all original paperwork and three spare tubes and six screws. I will also though in two great straps made by master craftsmen, a Rob Montana and a stunning Guillermo. This watch also bears a very striking serial number, o888, with 8 representing the Chinese symbol for prosperity.

This watch is in excellent condition, complete with everything but a Pre-V screwdriver. The only reason I have to sell this stunning watch is because I have located my Panerai GRAIL and must sell a few watches to afford it. Price: $ 20,500 OBO including CONUS insured shipping. I will be happy to ship abroad but this cost will be additional.

📖 About This Reference

The PAM301 represents Panerai's Luminor Marina Automatic within the Luminor Marina series, featuring a 44mm case construction. This reference utilizes polished steel throughout its case and bezel construction, positioning it as a steel sports watch offering within the collection. The 44mm polished steel case houses the Calibre OP III automatic movement and incorporates a polished steel bezel. Protection comes from a 3.5mm sapphire crystal equipped with a magnifier, while water resistance extends to 300 meters. The case materials and crystal specifications indicate construction suitable for daily wear and water exposure. This reference appeals to collectors seeking a substantial 44mm steel sports watch with automatic winding capability. The combination of polished steel case and bezel materials, paired with the magnifier-equipped sapphire crystal, positions the PAM301 as a functional timepiece within Panerai's automatic offerings. The 300-meter water resistance specification supports its positioning as a capable sports watch for active wear.

The PreVendome Mare Nostrum
I have always admired the PreVendome Panerais because of the purity of the design the fat tritium indexes and of course their significance in Panerai's history. But I always looked down on their Mare Nostrum series. I love the concept of the watch, but my thought on the watch, that Panerai downsized

The return of a Myth: The Mare Nostrum.
Announced a few years ago, eagerly awaited every year, it finally landed. Why is it a Myth? The Mare Nostrum, I mean the original one, was a Prototype conceived for the Italian Deck Officers in 1943, but as the Story says, it was never produced. So, this watch is a kind of Loch Ness Monster, a phant

The Mare Nostrum like you've never seen it before.
You all saw classic pics of the Mare Nostrum, pics like this: But did you ever see the Mare under the " loupe " ? Here it is: These Macros enhance the beauty of this dark blue dial, contrasting nicely with the honey yellow tritium indexes, show its perfect balance and geometrical layout, and reveals

Some A-Series reunion may bright up PuristS Pro.
It’s been quite a while since my last post with photos. Well, this time…the small ThaiPaneristi gangsters had a chance to meet up last Friday. And what a coincidence when most of us brought along our Panerai A-series (plus one PreVendome), so allow me to use the theme ‘Panerai A-Series Reunion’ for
