Description

I’m going to let the scans do the talking here, as this is quite simply one of the nicest Omega Seamaster 2913’s you’ll ever come across.  One of Omega’s “holy trinity” circa 1957-58, this one takes its place along side the Railmaster 2914 and Speedmaster 2915 as some of the most classic tool watches ever produced.

Briefly, the movement is the correct Caliber 501, recently serviced and running well.  Arrow hands are correct, as is the dial, bezel, bezel insert, case, case back, etc.  95% of the 2913s which turn up on that famous auction site and elsewhere are hodge-podges of parts from over the years.  Not this one.  Crystal has the small Omega logo on it, as the original crystals from this time period should.  Bezel insert, although lightly restored, is also original, which is virtually never the case with these (typically after-market replacement inserts).

Price is low at $4,650 plus shipping, especially for an example like this one.

Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

Thanks.

Darren

My Grandfather's Watch
Vintage watch handed down, not properly serviced in years. Local expert restoring, focusing on original parts. Patience key. Other watches with Omega for service. Issue stemmed from father ignoring advice.

Dials for the Melbourne Olympic Seamaster ref OT 2850
Variants of SM Olympic dials include rare XVI dial with pearl dots in yellow gold, most have a brass plate. Some dials may have rings with uniquely colored areas; accuracy debatable.

I'm primarily looking for an outright sale, unless you have an Eberhard Scafograf 200 or a Heuer Autavia 2446 with first execution dial and case, in which case maybe we could figure something out.

Thanks.

comment I do not. Like most of us you are looking for something specific. smile

I will consider the purchase, unless someone gets to it before me.

Thanks,
Frank

comment Hi Darren
Is the watch still for sale?
If so, do you have a new price?
Do you have box and papers?
Cheers Hans
Darren Sep 20, 2010
Hi Hans.   I haven't...
Hi Hans.

I haven't listed the watch since that post, as I have gone back and forth on selling.  But, I do think I am still going to need to sell it.  I do not have the box and papers (don't think I've ever seen box and papers for one of these).  The watch is authentic in every way - best example I've run across anywhere.

For an easy transaction, I'd be willing to sell for US$4,000 (far less than I paid for it).

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Darren
