Time to sell one of my favorites. I’m the original owner of the 44mm piece. Condition is 98%. The watch comes on the IWC bracelet
($1400) an option that really puts this big boy over the top. Of course, the original strap and
buckle are included. The watch is
gorgeous, big, easy to read. The
last of IWC’s internal turning bezel Aquatimer chronographs. It’s a limited edition of 2500, long
ago sold out and rarely do you see this one on the secondary market.
I purchased it from a US AD and it’s still under
warranty. Comes complete w/ all
boxes, instructions, extra links, microfiber cleaning cloth, hang tag, warranty booklet and card.
The watch is gorgeous - with the yellow, black, white, and blue color scheme
and the back of the 44 mm stainless steel case carries a beautiful verre
églomisé painting of the Calypso at sea. Circling it is the inscription
“Tribute to Calypso” and the edition number.
As with all the watches of the Aquatimer family, this one
also has the practical rotating inner bezel to set the start time of the dive
and to read off the diving time elapsed. It is operated via the dual-function
reset crown. This means that the operating element is a crown for the rotating
bezel and at the same time a reset button for the chronograph. As a diver’s
watch, the Aquatimer with automatic chronograph movement is pressure-resistant
up to 12 bar or 120 meters.
