44 mm is big, for sure, but the combination of the dial and the case is awesome. 
The only thing I am not fan of is this year indicator... Whic ruins the symmetry of this gorgeous dial. But we have the same problem with other brands such as JLC, for example.

I agree with you about the year. I can understand forgetting the date, even the day of the week on occasion, the month - well you're in trouble and the year..... On Grand Seikos the power reserve was moved to the back. Probably not doable in this instance...
