For me there wasn’t enough contrast between the black and the gold, so I struggled to read it. But that’s a “me problem” rather than a watch problem! I don’t have a problem with the year. There’s a lot going on with the dial so it’s easy enough for me to ...

I agree with you about the year. I can understand forgetting the date, even the day of the week on occasion, the month - well you're in trouble and the year..... On Grand Seikos the power reserve was moved to the back. Probably not doable in this instance...
