Omega

I have hesitated for a long time about which Omega I should add to my collection. A Speedmaster seemed like the most logical option, but I have never been able to decide which. Caliber 321 is always tempting, but then again vintages are not truly my thing...

Mine are adjusted to 6 positions whereas yours are only adjusted to 2 positions. It makes all the difference on the cuff you know :) G

I actually had noticed they do not run on COSC standards...surely because of that!! :)

They do look nice: the contrast of colors pink gold-steel looks great, and their size is perfect! :)

I love movement cufflinks; they really finish off the 'horologically tailored' look. :-) And Omega do particularly well because of their size and the gold colour with contrasting steel winding ratchet wheels. And each have their own history too. The Cal. ... 

Really, thank you so much for the technical and historical input! :) Being able to even give me an approximation to the birth date has definitely impressed me. Also, I now know the cufflinks are about as old as I am! As you say, it it the contrast and the... 

... because they used a consistent movement numbering system. You can find lists for Omega movements (Speedmasters are separate) on the Internet. Try and get some cufflinks from your birth year! Andrew

Als, shirt and 2xOmegas ;-) I really like that shirt. Also great picture. Do you mind revealing the shirt brand? A personal note: On one side is it a shame a Omega will end its days like this. Loosing a "leg" or a "arm" occasionally ... On the other hand,... 

...but there is no brand for the shirt...just one of these cheap (although very good) chinese tailors... I have to admit that his suits are no good, and I have long gone back to buying high-street suits. But his shirts are spot-on, so there you go... I ag... 

.. And to some respect also on shirts. I find the 3 tailors I uses in Thailand and China wasn't really doing me justice. Maybe if I find a better tailor? Best Hans
