Thick Lug Seamasters - 1st Generation

OK, I haven't started a new thread in awhile so here's a topic some of you might find interesting and hopefully some of you will chime in with thoughts/pics of your own.

I've always liked the thick lugged Seamasters, although most of them have small 34mm case diameters, the thick lugs give them more of a wrist presence than their actual size. And I'm a true fan of the automatic bumper movements. I've had dozens and dozens of them over the years of this hobby and never had a single problem with any one of them.

What makes them appealing is the plethora of different dial configurations. You can get a sweep second version with a Cal. 354. You can get a sub-seconds version with a Cal. 344, and a version with a date window at the 6 o'clock position with a Cal. 353 or 355. You can get textured and non-textured dials - I happen to like the textured dial versions, especially in black.

Of course, we can do a whole other thread with the chronometre versions of these fine bumper movements, but let's save that for another day.

Anyone have these bumper Seamasters in the 36mm case size? They are pretty scarce and I've only seen a few in the Cal. 333 version.

What do you think about these watches and let's see some more pics . . .

Phil
