Thanks for all the advice guys - you've helped me to make up my mind. I will leave well alone as I don't want to pay that much for a redialled watch - no matter how rare (in fact that makes it worse for me).
So for the time being, I have given up on this one (thanks Bill for your help) as I now have another project - a 1954 cal 354 bumper Constellation in need of TLC. I'll show you it when I receive it.

Omega chronometers with nice dials can still be found, wait for a good original piece. A redial makes no sense to buy.
Original dial ones are hard to find
They come up for sale to be sure but they are becoming harder to find and the ones in nice shape command an equally nice premium. I think if you want one and your budget is limited, you may have to settle for a redial. Of course if your budget allows, the...
