Thanks John, I figured as long as...

the timekeeping is within acceptable standards and it is not trotting the entire time, I will not worry about servicing it yet.  As I said after the initial 15 minutes or so, the trotting went away and I wore it a few days and have kept it wound monitoring its timekeeping and listening to it, it seems to be running within 7 to 9 seconds per day. 

By the way, I highly enjoyed your article a few years back on the Seiko SKX779 7S26 line.  I was so impressed by your analysis I bought an SKX173 and my interest as a Seiko Collector grew... I eventually ended up with a Marine Master 300M which uses the 8L35 Caliber from the Grand Seiko line which has been about 2.5 seconds fast average per day (some days spot on) when I wear it.
