Well your instinct is wrong, and I would add do not rely too much on it in the future...
This watch has been in the same family for over 20 years. Moreover there is a frame around the date, please look more carefully as it is visible on the pictures.
The watch is made of solid gold and is very heavy. The patina of the indexes is very pronounced and look at the tachymeter which has some pitting. This watch has obviously aged naturally.
Instinct is one thing, knowledge is another. And I know which one I prefer...
