Omega Soccer Timer

Dear Purists,

I'm extremely proud, humbled and excited to present my latest acquisitions.

It's my first dabble into vintage Omega and i am impressed. I'm impressed by Omega's courage to use unusual shapes and colours for the case, dial, bezel and hands. Also impressed by the quality of the 861 movement which is silky smooth and keeping time better than I can.

I have been extremely drawn to colourful watches over the last months and fell in love with this reference at first sight.
It's an Omega Soccer Timer 145.019 with a roulette bezel. It's powered by the self-winding caliber 861 and is quite chunky both in height and diameter.
Also no need to tell you that it's from the early 70s as the fireworks of colour already attest.

I must confess that I didn't only get one, but two Soccer Timers...proof that I am probably a little bit on the spectrum but, if you're reading this, so are you!

To suit my ever changing caprices I now have both the same watch in a roulette and yachting bezel. I must say that I like the flexibility of choosing depending on my mood:
⁃ feeling nautical with nostalgic penchant -> yachting
⁃ feeling psychedelic and colourfully aggressive -> roulette

People say that the roulette bezel is rarer however through my research I found many more roulettes than yachtings. So be it.

In any case, two amazing watches that I love wearing.

Thanks for reading!

Hugo
