Omega Genéve

For a while I've been looking for an Omega Geneve, not just a Geneve but one of them with two tone dial and cursive writing.

This came at an auction site and I was wondering somewhat over it. The problem was that according to the Omega Vintage Database this model did not exist in combination with central second, date and manually movement.

Hmm ... now the database is not complete, so I started with google and pictures of Omega Geneve and after some searching I found one similar, the ref. 14724 which was not described in the database, and it was also possible to find parts at Ofrei and Cousins on this number.

But I managed to find only a few similar ref´s online so it is not common.

Well, I made an offer and won and it came home and was fortunately ref. 14724 and not a Franken watch.

Hi! you're right. I had not thought of it was not gold plated. Do you know how two mesure the length of the second hand, when i have to order a new. Is it the entire length , or from the hole to the tip, when ex. Cousins/Ofrei write 12 mm. Best Thomas

I dont know much about the Geneves except for Art's 602 chronometer from 64. I am on the look out for a nice example. As for yours i think the dial is extremely nice with bold markers and not unlike a Constellation of the same period. A very nice find G

Very glad to see such a fine piece of an Omega Geneve. I have recently purchased a cal. 266, with a serial number which indicates it being produced 1952 or 1953. I hope to post pics very soon. Best regards,
