I believe you have more watch knowledge than I so you are probably correct regarding the re-dial.

I am going to post in a new thread to see how many people agree with you so that I can then point this in the direction of the dealer who sold me the watch.

It was sold as original and unrefinished and I believe the dealer made an honest mistake..
