Did I make a correct choice?
My budget allows me to pick up, just one Omega vintage-watch. I was toying with the idea of scouting around for a dress watch or a sports watch. It was between a mid-range 18k solid gold Omega Constellation with date and an Omega diver watch with a big triangle and date. I am hopeless, if the watch comes without a date, since to me it is a necessity, rather than a luxury. It is going to be a watch that I wear daily.
After some while, I managed to pick up an Omega diver watch, model ref 166.024 with big triangle and date.
If you have a crystal ball, do you think in the long-term I have made the correct choice, touching upon the subject of desirability of this watch, amongst enthusiasts and collectors.

These are not impossible to find, the CK 2913 or the 165 024.

Your watch seems to be correct and, since is not a much demanding one (military, FAP) there is a good chance to be 100% correct. Enjoy your watch but pay extra attention on the strap. A friend al,ost lost one when this strap broke. Congratulations, Nilo

the 166.024 with date is not seen here as often as the non date 165.024, but still a great watch. possibly better even because of the screwdown crown. i have the 2 i want, a 165.014 and 165.024 from 1964 so i am very happy for you. enjoy Graham
