Constellation cal 564 - black dial
Hello
I would much appreciate opinions on this recently acquired Constellation cal 564. I have not opened the back, but it seems to be a rare black dial - or is it a redial?
I am unsure about the lack of minute markers, the faded lettering in the 'o' and 'n' of Constellation.
My regular cal 564 is shown for information.

From the pictures you provided
it looks like a redial to me. Clearer high resolution pictures would confirm if my suspicion is correct.

.. sorry for my poor iphone photos. If it is a redial, can anyone confirm that Omega made a black dial in this configuration (long thin hour markers). The seller told me it was an original dial (for what this is worth). Other points: The date window is OK...
Yes
...they did make a black dial version of 168.004. The tell-tale sign of a refinished dial is the white lettering. The original black dialled models have silvered lettering for stainless cases and gold lettering for gold cap and gold cases. Cheers Desmond
