Hi all, I am interested in a new Panerai PAM 233, but the only one at the AD has a few hairlines on it. They offered to "polish them out". Should I look elsewhere? Any others have this experience?

depends on the deal... there is list price : price you are willing to pay new : price for a few scratches : how much is it scratched . are they bad enought that you woul never let that happen. you know your gonna get some scratches, how good a price is it... 

as intended by the factory faling which, I'd buy only if a substantial discount was given.

for a new one, money is the object. Hairlines or nicks must bring the price...down. When you're comfortable that...the price is right...go for it.

Thank you for the inputs. I was thinking the same way......discount. I can get it for a 20% off list. The scratches are minimal. They tell me that they already buffed them out, but I haven't looked at it yet.

I looked it over and it the buffed areas were obvious. Still had some scratches too. They say it was from shop handling, display, people trying it on, etc. Full warrantee, but it's not for me.
