I've been reading many of your comments and very much enjoy the excitement and comraderie shared by all.  I'm willing to brave the potential addiction of these unique and stylish timekeepers.

I have an opportunity to acquire a Platinum Pam 198 Radiomir (8 Days) but have not worked with this dealer before.  Given this is my first Panarai, I'd appreciate any and all advice as to what would be considered a reasonable price.

Also if there's any third party resource to verify legitimacy of the seller and watch.  Barring that, is there a form of insurance and/or bonding that I can request of the seller?

Last, please feel free to share your thoughts regarding this watch.  Along with general style, I'd be interested in your thoughts/opinion re where does it sit re desirability and potential appreciation, etc.

If you're going to get the PAM198, I would suggest looking into the PAM274 as well

Both the PAM198 and PAM274 are 45mm Platinum Radiomir cases and tobacco brown dials. The PAM198 houses the JLC 8-day movement while the PAM274 houses Panerai's in-house P.2003 calibre. You get the extra GMT function with the PAM274 plus the 24-hour indica...

Don't you think the dial od the 274 is too busy, with the date, the pumpkin PR, and the GMT? AS for the Panerai base, for example the Logo Pre V, or a PAM 2, the simplicity is sometimes nicer and stronger...And the 198 much more desirable. IMHO. Nicolas
