and answering it would take a good 5000 word assay.
My only word of advise - if you are starting with Panerai, don't jump to pre-V before you understand it. Don't expect to be educated withing one week and perhaps it would be better to go contemporary first then early A or pre-A and then perhaps pre-V. That way you will have better understanding and your interest would be more of passion.
But then it's just one guy's opinion.

First forgive me if these questions are elementary - I have tried to do some research on this through the web but really have not found any satisfactory answers. 1) Pre Vendome Models - ok these are models that were made when Panerai were "re-introduced" ...
