Officine Panerai

An old topic that was once of interest, is the anecdotal connection between Panerai and Minerva. Here are some pictures to demonstrate. Here is a chronograph timer for a detonation device which was made by Panerai and branded “Mare Nostrum”. The case BTW ...

Great Research..

Interesting that the subdial actually got most of the Panerai fonts/numeral but the main dial is made with slightly different fonts.

wOw... are you protecting someone famous? 'LR' 'RL' ;-) I have handled and seen more than 5 of thos Mare Nostrum pieces, it is the very first time I see (or hear) of one with an unbranded movement, and... Minerva. 'LR' collects very unique pieces which co... 

of them 2 from FF, one from LR and one is Hagen's. I did check all four pieces in the course of one weekend and all of them have exactly the same unmarked movement that is clearly Minerva. Doesn't add any special value or surprise as Minerva is well known... 

Amassing find! I did not keep any. From the one I knew or had, I thought to remember they housed 2 other branded movement... but from 4 out of 4 you 'AB' have History connection no doubts! Bravo Asi, great find indeed!
