The MM 36 is definitely an another level but for some reasons I love the black dial with T indices and closed back which makes the watch more of rugged/foolish piece!

The Mysterious PAM40B

Hello all, First off Merry Christmas. Haven’t been active on the forum for quite some time now. Funny how time flies. Just realized that my last post was about 2yrs ago. Here’s something we definitely don’t see everyday. The mysterious PAM40 with its gorg...

Lume and strap great colour match.

That watch reminds me of my one and only Panerai

 By: cazalea : December 26th, 2023-04:47
This says Panerai to me! Cazalea ...

Ah yes, the 55, right?

 By: amanico : December 26th, 2023-07:09

55 had a solid caseback

I hunted one for a long time, that's why I remember 116 would be my guess based on the movement plate engraving.

Ah maybe, yes!

The mysterious PAM40. That was a great one, and one of my very favorites from the early Vendome days. I wrote an article on this one. Welcome back, Laurent!

 By: amanico : December 26th, 2023-07:05
It came with the 36. both were the first Titanium ( Grade 2 ) Panerai watches. Same case, same movement, both tritium, the 36 having a chocolate and a Marina Militare ( 4 lines ) dial, and both limited to 200 pieces, even if the 40 was not treated like a ...

Wonderful.

Yes, it was!

Ciao Laurant...

...been a while indeed I've always considered the 40 as the poor relation to the 36. The T/T and the MM stole the thunder from this one. More like a 5218-203A, PAM004 spin off. That being said, it's a gorgeous pice of work. Welcome back

Thanks Sergio! Miss you man hope all is well on your end :)

I’m currently on the hunt for a 309 with the stunning Minerva movement. Any advice you can give on the piece? I’ve never owned one before but for some reasons find it very attractive. Happy holidays, Laurent

I had a 309 for a long time...

 By: sergio : December 26th, 2023-19:52
I have to confess, I didn't like it all that much. Yes the movement was really nice but the lack of the 9 on the dial, proved bothersome for me, in the long run. 3 or 4 years ago, I included it in a negotiation to get the LOGO NM and never regretted it. I...

All good here, thanks 😊

Ok i hear you! I think it looks great with the titanium case, rose gold hands in chapter ring. I like it more than the 322 to say the least. Is the movement louder than the other panerai movements with the ETA 6497 movements ?

As I always say...

 By: sergio : December 28th, 2023-10:54
whatever floats your boat. I've never thought of comparing how loud the Minerva was vs other movements. I'm mechanically impeded Lollllllllll At the time I bought my 309 (early days for me), the 322 was worth quite a bit more money

Thanks man :) we truly are!

The days where Paneristis used to get together and travel the world just to meet for a simple yet unforgettable event! This watch brought so many people togeher Laurent

These are really great.

There was a time when I was on the hunt for one and couldn’t find very easily so I moved on.

I perfectly agree with you! The 36 is always available for sale here there

 By: Makilla : December 26th, 2023-17:36
Finding a 40 is literally impossible. Don’t know what’s the secret behind this. Both limited to 200pcs but the 36 is always more abundant

Definitely harder.

I know of at least two 36’s that could be had right now, but still no 40’s.

Yeah I know! To be honest the same thing happened to me

 By: Makilla : December 26th, 2023-17:34
I was looking for one for years then let it go. And the funny thing is that I happens all of a sudden out of nowhere when the watch was for sale at a friend’s place and I grabbed it without blinking! What are the odds of finding another one like this?

What a Lovely Post

Nice to hear from an old Paneristi, we also miss those early days from 1998 to 2006 when the brand was exclusive with low production numbers the PAM 40 was a very special piece, experimental launched in Germany and Japan only making it very rare and hard ...

Wait... Here you are.

Love the 6154! That’s some top notch 👌🏼 Also the pre-v models are stunning. Do you still have some pieces? All the best, Laurent

Thank You Laurent, you mentioned Loris, he is such a gentleman and nice guy and really passionate about Panerai,

 By: SALMANPK : December 26th, 2023-22:27
I was very lucky to own the 6152-1, after owning this piece my Panerai journey came to an end, because for me this was the top along with the Prototype SLOB, there was no way to go higher than this so I moved out of Panerai and started to discover more of...

Yeah so many people went into this direction

 By: Makilla : December 26th, 2023-22:55
I also sold most of my panerais and kept a few that I consider very special. Too bad the brand followed a weird direction and so many enthusiasts moved on when they saw where it was going.
