Panerai 249 - is it safe to swim in a pool with
this watch? I am interested in getting one but i have heard that i can not get it wet or swim with it in a pool? is this so? Please advise? thank you.

Just to clarify in case the title of my last post was a bit misleading.
As one wag put it ...
... 30m water resistance means you should keep your watch at least 30m away from water! As a rule of thumb, 30m water resistance means the watch should be safe from splashes, rain and humidity. You really shouldn't swim in it. And doesn't the PAM249 come ...
