Officine Panerai

Focus, maturity, and a welcome call to heritage

I'm happy to see Panerai do something more with the Submersible line, which yes Anthony, shows a welcome consolidation vs just more stuff being released.    I'm liking the focus here.

- I really love the Mare Nostrum in brown, but like so many of us, would've loved to have this in a more wearable size.

- The equation of time pieces are really very nice and unique with their simplicity, which is no mean feat.

- I like the idea of having a Firenze only LE, but however nice it looks, I can do without the engraving.

- "Carbotech" looks good, but is perhaps too trendy?   I wish they would've released a serial, ceramic Submersible, much like the LE of last year.

But overall, I'm happy to see this new focus on a core line vs. singular releases.  It shows maturity and confidence.  To that, I'm very pleased to see a sharper vocalization of its heritage, (from the new videos on the website).  That was a long-time coming, as it sometimes felt as if Panerai corporate were too understated about that in recent years.   I left the website today with a renewed brand passion, much like I had in the beginning.
