Could just be magnetized
Hi. The watch might simply have gotten magnetized, which could cause it to run excessively fast. This happened to a few of my watches, but the good news is it is trivial to diagnose and fix at a decent watchmaker/repair shop.
All the watchmaker has to do is run the watch back and forth over a demagnetizer, that cured the two watches I had this issue with.
Be careful, some repair places might try and convince you the watch needs major repair, and/or you might send it all the way to Panerai Service when all it needed was this simple fix.
I hope this is all that is causing the timing problem, but if not, hopefully the place you bought it can help resolve the issue quickly.

Is three minutes fast in a week to 10 days acceptable? I was pissed my JLC is ONE minute late!!

Get it adjusted.
The oils might be dry or anything. Anyhow, the accuracy is not within acceptable level. And when your watch is new, it does not cost anything to get it adjusted. Best, Kari

it's you, obviously. I, for instance, have never "checked" whether my watches are...sharp. Reading you post though, if 1 minute pisses you off, I would bring it for service.. :-) Ciao

Remember the physics lesson back in school? To demagnetize a metal u just give it a few bangs against something :) What will I bang my 372 against? :)
If watch is magnetized, don't blame Panerai for it :P
