The manual version is very much my taste.

Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph - after almost 10 years still a fascinating piece

 By: KMII : May 13th, 2017-23:19
At the recent reopening event of Montblanc's Vienna Boutique I have had the opportunity to more extensively try out some of their collection. And one of the pieces I have not yet tried - mea culpa as a mod (albeit quite newly minted) has been the Nicolas ...

I love the Nicolas Riussec :)

if only they come in a smaller case of 40mm or 41mm. 43mm is a tad big for me (and it's thick too). I love this collection even if my wrist can't carry one. Cheers Robin

I agree about the size

I tried one several years ago and I had the same feeling. It is a little bit too big for my wrist too. Nevertheless, I really love this timepiece but in its manual winding versions (only two if I'm right). Best wishes Alkiro

I'm with you Alkiro [nt]

I was sure of that ;-)

Yet to try the manual one...

Would need to check

Will let you know

Thanks my friend ;-)

Would certainly not be an everyday watch for me either - too skinny of wrist for that as well

+1

Same for me. Best wishes Alkiro

I like this one too [nt]

One for the record books ;)

Absolutely!

 By: KMII : May 14th, 2017-03:38
Very nice

Do you know if rumours are true about the fact that Montblanc will stop to make the Rieussec?

 By: Alkiro1 : May 14th, 2017-01:11
I remember when I went to the PP museum. A Rieussec Chronograph can be viewed there. A very cool and versatile timepiece in my opinion if you think to all the different versions which are available. Best wishes Alkiro

Not that I know of Alkiro [nt]

 By: jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) : May 14th, 2017-03:18

Ok. Really strange. I hope that's wrong

Not as far as I know...

 By: KMII : May 14th, 2017-04:06
More likely for an eventual update - would be a shame to stop such a recognisable and important line.

Absolutely agree with you

Thanks Jomni!

Definitely appealing - the chronograph does not dominate, with the time function and the GMT one nicely separated.

Time to Add Poison

 By: MTF : May 14th, 2017-05:08
jomni1, Then, it is time for me to add poison with your admission of wavering self control...mwahahaha The blue hands and screws change colour with different angles of ambient light. The stylish numerals transport you to a different era and yet the dial s...

Fully agree - fresh yet classical at the same time

 By: KMII : May 14th, 2017-09:58
Which is the appeal. I find it shares this quality with the Glashütte Original Pano(Retro)Graph

I love the original manual winding version. I came close to getting one.

 By: MichaelC : May 14th, 2017-10:41
Given my recent experiences with MB, I no longer lament not having it. But I thought the design was 100%, case / dial / movement.

Not heard or read of any issues with this one...

Very unfortunate how it all went with your 1858 - let's hope it gets resolved quickly and to your full satisfaction!

Mine says hi

The Rising Hours to me is an even more interesting version of the Rieussec due to the rotating hour disc. Nonetheless, the whole line is very innovative. ...

Very nice!

 By: KMII : May 14th, 2017-23:00
Thanks for sharing your Rising Hours

Should be possible in principle...

I suppose the placement of the time module may make it somewhat of a challenge, though Good idea!
