The 5 Month Wait Explained

This is a good story!

The first time I wandered into a Montblanc Boutique and inquired into the Rieussecs in general (back in July 2009) I was told that the only models currently available were the manual versions in precious metal. I asked if they could get me an automatic. A few days later I was told they could get me a gray dialed version in a few weeks. In fact, a week later I was able to try a gray dialed Rieussec on. I explained that I was interested in the all white/silver dial. At first they told me that they did not make a version like this! The truth was, this version was not yet listed in their brochures! I sent the local boutique a picture and model number (thank you Purists!) and they came back and told me that I was right but that there were none in the U.S. and none were expected for quite some time. I told them to put my name on the waiting list.

The people at the local boutique were fantastic and kept on top of it trying their best to source one for me. Finally, after 5 months, it showed up! Well worth the wait.
