Indeed there are many ways the snake could have been designed - I guess Montblanc wanted to align with the design of the serpent on the pen clip of the historic “Rouge et Noir” fountain pen to make it their 110th anniversary watch.
The LE non anniversary edition is what I like too. If only I have the spare cash ! It's a grail out of my league to be honest 
But I really love that bi-cylindrique Tourby in action !

I have a phobia for snakes, too.
But since this is a very limited production to suit particular tastes, I feel happy for those who would acquire this and appreciate the artwork.

I am not so much a fan of serpents or dragons myself. But that LE 18 edition haunts me still
While I am far removed from understanding all the technical details...
I can only say that it looks and sounds magnificent As for a joint visit to the manufacture - what a lovely idea!
