My short, uneducated review...

Mar 03, 2011,07:18 AM

Hey all, I recently purchased a watch from the Timewalker collection (see earlier post). First, let me mention this is the first watch I have paid more than 200 dollars for, and since I am married to Mr. what-the-hell-its-just-a-watch, this is saying something. The watch arrived in a plain black box containing a 416 page service guide in 10 languages. I admired it for a bit and then I put it on. At 42mm, the watch is large even for me...lover of big watches, but in a good way. I decided to test drive it at work. The first comment I received was, "thats a huge watch", this from my boss. My reply, "thanks, I like watches." Hehe. I am a nurse and taking apical pulses was a breeze thanks to the clear black dial with large silver numbers! The watch is not too heavy but I did find myself banging it against surfaces occasionally. I have very small wrists at barely 5 in. so the watch sits a bit loose on me...my only gripe, although the straps are comfortable. I find myself readjusting it on my wrist quite often. My other concern was keeping the watch "clean". I put my hands in some strange places at times. I would remove it but I am notorious for losing things at work (hence my stethoscope collection) so not an option. I have taken to wearing larger gloves that cover more of my wrists which makes wielding needles a bit trickysmile I'm kiddingsmile One small item...I adore the MB logo on the crown. I'm a sucker for detail. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and looking forward to many years with it. Thanks for reading! Now let me go see if I can get husband to stop shaking his head and staring at his wallet. Christina Thistlewaite

Thanks for the review, Christina. The watch does NOT look too big on you in this photo. In fact it looks great! The success of a larger watch is how comfortably you can make it sit on the wrist. This is dependent on wrist shape as well as watch diameter, ...

OMG Great Purchase

And tell your husband to get prepared once you start down the path it only leads to more expensive ones.. I hope you enjoy the watch and continue collecting in good health. Regards Jay

Great watch,

it looks good on the wrist. I am in a health profession, and was hesitant to wear a nice watch to work (constant hand washing, as you said hands in strange places, risk of banging/nicking). I realized the enjoyment I get from wearing the watch to work far...

Lookin good!
