The Montblanc Villeret chronos

And the Nicolas Rieussecs are of different leagues to be honest smile
I also like this grained dial and the Roman numerals on this version 2 of the Homage to Nicolas Rieussec even though I prefer version 1 a bit more due to the rotating discs
But of course, my Montblanc Villeret chronograph is still my favorite but that can buy more than a few Rieussecs to be fair smile
Thanks for your valuable feedback smile
Cheers
Robin

Montblanc Homage to Nicolas Rieussec II – Part Two

 By: jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) : September 7th, 2015-19:50
In part one of this two-part series on the Montblanc Homage to Nicolas Rieussec II, I covered the various iterations of Rieussec’s inking time writers, the forefathers of the chronograph as we know today. For part two, I will share the concept of this new...

Great part II, Robin!

The new watch looks great! The white dial version would be my choice. Looking forward to see some live shots! Best Blomman

Lol thanks Blomman

there is only the white dial version though :) The pic with the "darkened dial" is to show the night time effect of this watch when the superluminova takes effect. It is not a black dial version :) Yes I will share live pics as soon as I can :) Cheers Rob...

Oh, missed that point!

Thank you for the clarification! Best Blomman

Montblanc has established real watchmaking reputation

Thanks for the report of the new 'Montblanc Homages to Nicolas Rieussec II' watch. I remember when a prominent watch collector in Asia told me, "I will never buy a Montblanc Villeret watch because it has the name 'Montblanc' on it. That brand is for my pe...

That is the beauty of Montblanc's current strategy

Cascading the very best of both their manufactures to more accessible timepieces yet retain the highly exclusive, artisanal Montblanc Villeret range So far, IMHO, Jerome is doing a fantastic job! The next step will be again IMHO to establish a more distin...

Good point about Iconic

I see the NR as being the flag ship in turns of iconic DNA for Montblanc's watch pillar however can we not count the Timewalker in there as well? I say this for this simple fact that the skeletonized lugs are quite unique in my mind and you can definitely...

Good point Todd

The Montblanc Timewalker is indeed becoming a very recognizable Montblanc watch as well. I agree I can spot and identify one from a distance away. It is a success in its own right. I do see some in the wild in Singapore and it is quite popular due to its ...

I'm with you on both points.

But this looks very good as is, definitely a fine offering from MB.

I think you will like this Michael

Hope you can see the Homage to Nicolas Rieussec version 1 and 2 in the metal. I believe you will like them :) Cheers Robin

Great idea Nico

And Montblanc has that movement. A PuristS delight :) Cheers Robin

Not my cup of tea...

I much prefer the first Hommage. The grained dial doesn't seem to have the same subtility than with the first version (maybe it is due to the pictures). Not convinced at all while I was very seduced with the first Hommage... which was enough. Fx

I think the grained dial is the same

I will confirm once I see version 2 in the metal. But personally between the 2 I also prefer version 1. rotating discs are more fun! :) Thanks Fx for your feedback Cheers Robin

I agree Robin

I love the fact that Montblanc continues to make different generations of the watch akin to Apple updating the iPhone each year however I still love the rotating discs of my NR. While I am drooling over the night time shots in your article I can't give up...

Rotating discs are super cool to watch

on all the Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec watches :) I love them a lot I am wishing Montblanc creates a smaller version of the Nicolas Rieussec - hopefully 40mm or max 41mm :))) Thanks Todd for your feedback Cheers Robin

Great follow up report!

I find the dial texture very appealing. Left to be seen in the metal, especially the thickness. Thanks for this...looking forward to getting to see it in the real!

Hopefully we can see it in the metal together

Are you attending Watches and Wonders Richard? :) Cheers Robin

Yes I am.

 By: rnaden : September 8th, 2015-23:14
Seeing it together sounds like a good plan!

Probably my favourite of the Rieussec models released thus far!

 By: jmpTT : September 8th, 2015-19:57
I say "probably" because I have not seen this one in the flesh. It might be a bit sacrilegious, but I prefer the traditional register hands over the line's signature rotating discs. The dial's grained texture is very interesting, perhaps a bit coarser tha...

I also like the textured dial - gives it some depth :) And thanks for your feedback on the chrono. I believe Montblanc, having focused so much on the chronograph complication, should have more iterations of their chrono watches including the Rieussecs , T...
