Montblanc

Functioning Principle

So I tinkered around with the watch for about an hour at my local Montblanc Boutique in Silicon Valley.  The crown has several positions and this is how they work;

Position 0 - Crown screwed in (it's a screw down crown).
Position 1 Clockwise direction - Winding
Position 1 Counter-clockwise direction - World City Disc moves.
Position 2 Clockwise direction - 24 hour hand advancement
Position 2 Counter-clockwise direction - Date advancement
Position 3 both directions - time setting of hour and minute.

In theory, because neither the 24 hour ring nor the city disc actually advances with the time, the 24-hour ring and city disc remains static until turned, the best way to utilize the city disc is to turn it when you need it to correlate with the inner 24 hour ring to determine the synchronous time of all 24 time zones in the world.  You would have to manipulate the city disc manually, every time you wanted the watch to give you a world-time read-out, and the longest this read-out will remain accurate is for one hour.
