From the time when a stopwatch was an instrument of management - the Minerva Ref. 1402

Aug 04, 2018,09:39 AM

A while ago I wrote a piece on the hundreds of a minute type of stop watches used in management a long time ago, when computers were expensive and efficiency was hoped for from exact measurement of work steps (here:  www.watchprosite.com  for details).

I seem to have misplaced my Minerva Ref. 1402 from that era, as it’s more of a historical curio than something I would use daily but luckily I rediscovered it recently smile

And it’s definitely an intriguing piece - 65th/100ths of a minute, anyone? wink

Have a great weekend!

Glad you like it

Certainly so much to be found there...

The movement doesn’t have anything in terms of decoration but shows the Minerva design elements nevertheless

More about ease of transformation than precision :)

If you don’t have computers, 100 ths of a minute are easier to work with than seconds

Mine says hello

I don't know, I see no ref. numbers anywhere on the movement or caseback

 By: cazalea : August 5th, 2018-06:24
It's labeled Minerva Watch Swiss 7 Jewels Unadjusted On the inside of the caseback a serial number 572133 Minerva Watch Swiss and on the ouside, an engraving N.O.C. YMCA #11 And 3-4 Arrowheads too in appropriate places. Mike

Well, was worth a try...
