Although not as fancy as the "Only Watch 2009" auction, the cause is just as worthy
On November 26th AIRC (Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca sul Cancro), the Italian counterpart to the American Cancer Society, will be having its second annual watch auction hosted by Patrizzi and Company.
32 companies have donated timepieces to the auction with 100% of the proceeds going towards cancer research.
Although these watches are not "Piece Uniques" as they were for the Only Watch event in Monaco, the generosity displayed is significant given the substantial decrease in charitable donations towards medical research over the past two years due to the global financial depression.
This year Montblanc donated a 18K Montblanc Star automatic chronometer to AIRC.
Perhaps this is a good opportunity to pick up a nice gold Montblanc watch for a worthy cause?
