Not sure if this a prefered or recommended method. You could have the AR coating buffed away. A few of my friend who dive have done to their watches due to poor visibility underwater. Not sure of the implication to the sapphire, if any.

JLC sporty watches receive an AR sapphire, while the others don't. It is very easy to remove it, though. Remove your sapphire and use some " produit vaisselle " ( Dish soap, in English ? ). I will ask for a confirmation from my contact. Best, Nicolas This...
