There's a point (which you've found)...
within the watch's striking range where you can hear the gongs "rattle" - that is, the damper has been released so that the alarm will chime, but after about 1/2 hour past the alarm time the damper closes again so that you don't have the "rattle." There is nothing wrong with the piece.
Oh, and I 2nd your remard regarding the "articulated rubber:" it is SUPERB!!! I have it on the NS GMT Chrono and LOVE it! It makes the 46.3mm size very wearable.

You've got sharp eyes !! #17 is indeed the one in the middle and both pieces either side are the Prototypes . . . this photo is mine but the mastermind of this edition was sitting next to me and posted almost the same shots ;-) Michael
Underwater Alarm?

Did any of you as ever try to set its NSA alarm to ring underwater at a later time? I just came back from my local diving shop and this thought came up: I wish to hear my alarm underwater. I suppose that it should not be an issue since the NSA is designed...
